Today I decided to go to the post office to send the Tea Pot Set to the eBay auction winner and open a PO Box. The post office is not very far from where I live, just about two traffic lights down the street. When I arrived at the post office at about 3:15pm, there was already a long line forming inside, longer than before Christmas.
Seeing more people were heading to the post office I quickly got in the line. There were about 10 people in front of me. After about 20 minutes, I was in the fifth place in line. Then something dramatic happened! The lady who just got her turn to the counter was about to get fainted. She had to lay down on the bench like structure at the side of the wall.
Several post office employees came out to help her. One got her a cup of water. The other was told by the lady to get her husband outside in the parking lot. Yet another staff asked the lady if they should place a 911 call for her. Her husband got in and finished with mailing the package she tried to send.
Fortunately, after some rest, she was able to regain her strength and walked out the post office with her husband. And I noticed the line had just gotten longer still. Luckily, it was finally my turn, or else I might get fainted too! I asked the staff who was helping me if Monday was usually this busy and I got the definite "Yes!" answer. Well, I think I'd better avoid going to the post office on Monday from now on.
