FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ELK GROVE, CA – This morning the U.S. Census Bureau issued a press release citing Elk Grove as the second fastest growing city in the nation among large cities (100,000 or more population) between July 1, 2003 and July 1, 2004.

“The new population numbers show that the City of Elk Grove is truly thriving!” stated Mayor Dan Briggs. “We have a robust economy, attainable housing, and a superior quality of life that is very attractive to new residents.”

“The City has planned for this growth,” said City Manager John Danielson. “The City Council has implemented a Growth Management Policy that ensures that new development can be accommodated and will only occur as new infrastructure – roads, sewer, schools, and parks – are built.”
