Korean media's lies about the torch relay incident

It's a well konwn fact that the Koreans are the most violent protesters in the past. I feel sad that some of the Chinese students over reacted on the attack started by the Korean protesters, but I am also angry how the Korean government turn around accusing the Chinese students started the violence, but the facts cann't lie. I got the following article from this web link:

有图为证-韩国的圣火事件谎言Korean media's lies about the torch relay incident本文由 lies_buster2008 在 2008-4-30 12:05 发表于: 倍可亲.美国 ( backchina.com )

Some Koreans are making noise about the incident happened during the Olympic Torch Relay in Soul on April 27 in which some Korean protesters and Chinese paraders acted strongly and caused some injuries. There had been claims of rock-throwing and bolt-cutters-throwing incidents during the relay on April 27. On April 28, Korean news outlets were flooded with news conferences and protesting marches on the same theme - that is - the Chinese paraders threw rocks and bolt-cutters at the Koreans and caused injuries, with the so-called evidence - rocks and bolt-cutters - on display! While I do not endorse the heated acts by either side on that day and I do hope that the responsible Chinese paraders will apologize to the Korean people, I am completely shocked by the pictures of those accusers, caught red handed, holding the same rocks and bolt-cutters in their hands on April 27 before the incident even happened! Now please DO convince me that the Chinese paraders used exactly the same piece of rocks and the same bolt-cutters generously provided by these Koreans and attacked them! Oh, by the way, why did these Koreans have these assaulting weapons at their hands in the first place? Please....... I am lost! What a scheme! AND!!!! What is the Korean media trying to do? Please don't act like CNN!!!!Now, please see it for yourselves! The top pictures were taken on April 27 prior to the incident in which two Koreans were seen holding the rock and the bolt-cutter in their hands. However, on the next day, it was these two Koreans who held news conferences and marched on the streets (bottom pictures) accusing the Chinese paraders of throwing these same exact rock and bolt-cutter. WHAT A PATHETIC LIE!(BTW, wikipedia uses "punches" for bolt-cutter on its page)Picture source: cache.tianya.cn[ 本帖最后由 lies_buster2008 于 2008-4-30 19:11 编辑 ]
And now see why this anti-Oplympic Torch relay Korean protester gotten beaten up:

"China, Tibet And The Torch" -
I like to thank Guy Wong (http://www.guywong.com/) for forwarding me this great article on Sacramento Bee by Ivy Lee. At least the media here in Sacramento is much fairer on the issues regarding Tibet and the Olympic game. In the article, Ivy Lee will take you along on her trip to San Franciso to show her support for the Olmpic game in Beijing and showed you the facts on the Tibet issue:

May I also add that, when the Chinese people show their support for their country, some of Western media will label that as dangerous nationalism, but when their citizens show thier support of their countries, they will call that patriotism, just another example of media bias and double standards on China issues. But then again, the Chinese people should keep their heads cool, as not all critism are invalid.

Laura Ingraham - Another Bias, Misinformed Media "Professional" like Jack Cafferty of CNN on China issues
Today (Sunday, 04/13), while at work I listened to AM radio stations, I somehow tuned into Laura Ingraham's talk show, normally I would have listened to KFBK Bruce Maiman's talk show, but he is off air on Sunday. Not to my surprise, she is just another China bashing, misinformed media "professional" like the CNN new host Jack Cafferty.
Just after the first several minutes of listening to her, and I know what her stands are on current issues related to China: Support free Tibet; President Bush should not go the Olympic opening in China; Call the security guards who protect the torch relay thugs...etc. She even put up a poll on President Bush's visit to the Olympic game, but sadly for her, over 70% of the people think that President Bush will attend the opening of the Olympic game. She must be very disappointed.
Anyway, I don't want to argue with her about why she is wrong on the "Free Tibet" issue all over again in detail as I did with Bruce Maiman (which I may include the details later). If she & others care to learn about the truth, please refer to my previous posts.
After visiting her website (http://www.lauraingraham.com/), I can see that perhaps she is still hung onto the Ronald Regan era's cold war mind set. Don't get me wrong, Regan is a great president, I am all for his contribution in breaking down the Berlin wall and disbanding the Soviet Union. But trying that tactic won't work on China, at least not to the Chinese people. The communist party may go down, but Tibet will never be free from China, as this is the unshakable belief in the majority of the 1.3 billion Chinese people and the millions of oversee Chinese people. Any call for separating Tibet from China will have to answer the Chinese people and they are with the Chinese government on this issue, or whoever will govern China.
The reason people like Laura Ingraham acted the way they behaved is what I call selective journalism. They accused of China violating human rights while putting an blind eye on the Tibet riot which cost many innocent lives, including five young innocent girls burned to death in a shop.
There is no doubt that the human right record is not that great in China, but the Chinese people including myself have noticed the improvement. There is freedom of religion in China. Buddhism, Muslim, Christianity co-existed in China. Dalai Lama isn’t the only one preach Buddhism, the majority of Chinese people practice Buddhism and monks are getting rich in major temples. Some of them even own BMWs, Mercede Benzs, cell phones…etc. Why didn’t you go to China and investigate stories like this? Do you care to find out what exactly going on inside China? Did you care to spend time to learn the history of China? I strongly doubt that. Your view of China is probably still got stuck in China's Cultural Revolution era and you are now acting just like a red guard with your anti-China propaganda in the name of human rights.
By the way, do you think human rights are fully respected in the United States? If there is any riot going on in the U.S., for example, the LA riot, how do you think the police would deal with them? I have learned from the news that the police here will shoot to kill any suspect who the police think their lives were threaten. I heard an Asian guy got killed just by swing a bloom stick in front of his house at the police. As I said, separatism is more dangerous than a riot for any country.
As for the Olympic game, China received the right to host game shows the world recognizes the progress in China and its ability to host the game. And of course, this make those anti-China goons not happy. Why do you think the Tibet separatists would pick such a time to have the riot? The Chinese government isn’t that stupid to pick such a sensitive time to provoke a riot.
And please, do not call the torch security guards thugs, they won’t be needed if the “Free Tibet” crowds protest peacefully. Did you see how one of them trying to take the torch away from a young disabled Chinese girl in the wheel chair in France? Of course you probably didn’t see that, because most of the western media choose to ignore that. Didn't you see how the French police wrestled the violent protesters down to the ground? Why don't you call them thugs?
Also, you probably didn’t and won’t see how many Chinese supporters turn out to counter the “Free Tibet” crowd and welcome the Olympic torch all over the world, especially in San Francisco. My 70 years old mother and her friends turn out to support the torch relay in San Francisco. She told me that most of the “Free Tibet” crowds are not really Tibetans, they are mostly young white kids who don’t even know where Tibet is (for example, refer to the YouTube video on my previous post). And there are more supporter turn out than the “Free Tibet” crowd. And of course you probably didn’t see that on TV either - again, selective journalism. As I told Bruce Maiman, the Olympic game belongs to the world and the Chinese people, do not try to politicize it and take it away from them even though the communist Chinese government is the hosting medium. The theme of the game is Wrold Harmony, what's wrong with that? The Tibet riot is certainly the opposit of that, which promtes violence.

Anyway, I can go on and on how Laura Ingraham is out of touch of China’s reality and the majority of Chinese people’s view on the Tibet riot and the Olympic game. I strongly suggest her and her followers to carefully read my previous posts and spend time on researching the history of China. And according to the latest news, Dalai Lama told the Chinese media, including Sing Tao Daily, that he does not suport the independence of Tibet and he supports and Olympic game and felt sorry for what happened during the torch replays. He also said it's upto the leaders of other govenments to decide whether or not to attend the Olympic game opening. I guess Laura Ingraham and the "Free Tibet" crowds aren't happy to hear that.
